Depression is NOT
the same for everyone
There are two things to remember when focusing on treating depression. The first is that
depression is unique. According to the National Institute of Public Health, depression
can take on different symptoms based on each age group, gender, and the individual
patient’s life.
The second thing to remember is that you are not alone, depression is recognized as a
common medical condition and is treated globally. According to Johns Hopkins, just under
10% of adults in the United States suffer from some type of depression, with one in four
U.S. adults diagnosed with a mental health-related disorder. These numbers have driven
healthcare professionals to take mental wellness even more seriously than before with
many treatment options available to best suit your needs.
